Think Better Spotlight On Melissa Andrews

Melissa, aka Mea, joined the Think Better team in November 2020 and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on our team. Her excitement is contagious, her drive to always be learning is impressive, and her organization skills are amazing. She came to us with two decades of experience and is already making a big impact both internally and with our clients. Learn more about Mea, what she’s passionate about, and what marketing trends she thinks are here to stay.

What is your position at Think Better and what areas do you oversee?

As the Head of Operations,  I’m focused on optimizing our systems, building and rolling out internal and external processes, and identifying avenues to serve our clients best.

What skills and experience have you picked up along the way that help you at Think Better?

Melissa Andrews

I have over twenty years of B2B technology experience in growth marketing, marketing technology, and marketing/sales alignment. I understand how to define systems, processes, and empower team members and clients to do their best work. I've worked at SAP Ariba, digital agencies, and consulting firms.

What is your favorite part of being on the Think Better team so far?

Our small but mighty team is nimble and creative. We can define which marketing strategies will impact our clients the most and then implement them in a scalable way. We have also built a network of go-to experts and source only the best-fit systems and resources to deliver in each area.

Marketing is vast. Is there a particular area that you really excel at?

I’m a passionate and driven marketer, but at my core, I’m also a salesperson who believes in customer-centric strategies and growing revenue. I have always been a strong advocate for the strategic alignment between sales and marketing. This alignment drives predictable growth and long-term success.

Who is your favorite thought leader and why?

Brené Brown—I love her authenticity and how she has transformed vulnerability into a superpower. Her talks, books, and podcast have taught me how to show up better for myself and others.

What do you think sets Think Better apart from other agencies out there?

We are true marketing partners to our clients and believe that their success is our success. Think Better is our clients’ secret weapon. We work tirelessly behind the scenes to exceed expectations and deliver results. Beyond that, we continue to prove the value of marketing as an integral function to generating revenue and driving growth.

Marketing is always evolving. What current trends do you think are here to stay?

The convergence of marketing and technology. In every aspect of revenue functions, at every stage of the customer lifecycle, and at all points of interaction.

Think Better is the outsourced marketing team for businesses. What do you personally think the advantages are for businesses to hire an outsourced team versus hiring in-house.

B2B marketing is complex and the strategies that worked before can run their course and stop being effective. With a strategic marketing partner like Think Better, we can respond to a rapidly changing landscape with a team that shifts and evolves with you. We combine strategy with execution in a way that you would never be able with an in-house team and at a significantly higher ROI.

The Think Better team has always been remote enabled. Where do you live and do you have any tips for keeping team motivation and collaboration alive while working from different locations?

I live in Chicago and have worked remotely for over a decade. Motivation and collaboration isn’t much different when you’re remote versus an in-person environment. Be proactive. Be empathetic. Be accountable. Use technology to be more efficient and effective. And never stop learning.

Where do you go looking when you need some marketing inspiration?

B2B MarketingProfs...I love everything they do.

If you could go back and give younger Mea some advice, what would it be?

Keep going, live with grace and gratitude, and enjoy every second of this beautiful journey.

If you could go anywhere in the world for two weeks, all expenses paid, where would you go?

Southeast Asia. I specifically want to go to Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I’m fascinated by their history, I love the cuisine, and visiting an elephant sanctuary is on my bucket list.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A news anchor. When I was seven, I would pretend to deliver the evening news while sitting at my Strawberry Shortcake desk.

What is your most-used emoji?

😊

Do you have any hidden talents?

Organizing. When I was younger, I started a professional organizing business and I am amazing at it. All I need is my label maker and I can transform any mess into an organized dream!
